Platonic and neoplatonic motives in Russian philosophical searchings of the second half of the 18-th century: the experience of the comparative analysis in the context of common features of the epoches (by the example of comparison of some aspects of anthology, anthropology and gnosiology by Platon, Plotin and G. S. Skovoroda)

The present article deals with comparative analysis of philosophical outlooks of ancient Greek thinkers, Platone and Plotin, and the first ( in the full sense of it) Russian philosopher G. S. Skovoroda. Ontological, gnoseological and anthropological doctrines of these thinkers are being compared. It has been show that the interest to platonism and neoplatonism in Russia in the second part of the 18 – th century when G. S. Skovoroda lived and worked, and what was concentrated in his personality and in his scientific work, was not fortuitous. The interest was determined by logical development of Russian philosophical thoughts of that time, as well as by specific processes in Russian spiritual and social life, as a result of which platone>s and plotin>s theories were of great importance. The article specifies that G. S. Skovoroda was not a mere imitator of great Greeks, but undoubtedly, possessed some original philosophical gift and managed scientifically and originally to comprehend platone>s and plotin>s great inheritance adapting it to his epoch and his country. This comprehension resulted in a unique and original philosophical teaching which influenced the subsequent Russian philosophical thought.

Inner Dialogue at Midnight of Existence

Correlation between consciousness and self-consciousness of a subject within an inner dialogue (in other words, “Self” of a Construction (Subject) and “Self” of Identity or “the Self” and “the other Self”) is viewed in the article. The scenario of the correlation between “Self” and “the other Self”, as being determined by the cultural and historical development, precedes ontogenesis and consequently “converts” the type of “Self”-“the other Self” relation, which has been historically fixed within the given cultural background, into the sphere of subjectivity. Thus it influences the way a personal identity of a human is formed as well as the motivational program of human’s personal development.

Philosophy of Nothingness: а New Rise of Metaphysics or  a Deadlock of Old Thinking?

The paper presents criticism of a classic short "Treatise on nothingness" by A.N.Chanyshev. The basic metaphysical arguments are analyzed in detail, the logical and ontological mistakes and shortcomings are identified. It is shown that the leitmotif of the Treatise - the intellectual processing of horror and fear of "nothingness" (imminent death) into admiration and delight. The consciousness of the philosopher filled with horror does not exempt from ancient archetypes and standard psychological mechanisms. Philosophical erudition of A.N.Chanyshev and power of abstract thought allowed him to see nothingness as the source of this terror. Further his mind moves along the beaten path and transforms the source of terror into a new object of worship - a new deity. So it appeared meaningful and emotionally energetic core of "consciousness of nothingness" and "philosophy of nothingness”.
